What telemedicine looks like in our clinic

Telemedicine is the use of technology to deliver medical care at a distance. In general terms, it can cover all of the ways you and your provider can use technology to communicate without being in the same room. It includes phone calls, video chats, emails, and text messages.

Sound Family Health is happy to offer such services to our patients. Some of our telemedicine services are only available to our SFH Complete Members. To learn more details on what that entails, visit our Become a Member page.

The most commonly used form of telemedicine in our office is a video chat with your provider. It is as simple as clicking on a link. Not all appointments are appropriate for telemedicine. You can find a break down below.

BEST APPOINTMENTS FOR VIDEO CALLS:

  • Reoccurring Follow-ups

  • Medication Checks

  • Lab Work Follow-ups

  • Sick/Unwell appointments

  • Preventative care support. Such as weight loss, smoking cessation, and mental health.

  • Post-hospitalization care when appropriate

APPOINTMENTS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR VIDEO CALLS:

  • Injuries

  • Potential UTI’s

  • Abdominal Pain

  • Skin abnormalities

  • Most Post-hospitalization care

  • Yearly Wellness Exams
